Review packaging change history

See who opened or repacked stock and compare counts before and after.

Draft article for local review. Instructions may change before release.

Use the Packaging change report on Stock to review recent physical conversions at the selected location.

The report shows:

  • When the change was recorded and who recorded it.
  • The item and reason.
  • Singles recorded before the opening or repack.
  • Package counts before and after.
  • Total base units before and after.

A conversion should preserve the total base-unit count. For example, removing one box of 20 and adding 20 singles changes the forms, not the number of cigars in the store.

Review the context

The number of singles available before opening can help you understand how the team is using stock. For example, an opening recorded while 35 singles were already on hand can be reviewed with the staff member afterward.

That count alone does not establish why the person opened the package or whether anything was missing. Review the reason and physical workflow before drawing a conclusion.

Receipts and count corrections

Receiving history is separate from the packaging report. A supplier receipt adds units to the store; a packaging conversion preserves them.

A damaged or missing cigar is a total-inventory issue, not a packaging change. Owners and managers should record the appropriate inventory correction. A packaging conversion must leave the total number of items unchanged.
