Manage location details

View and edit a location name, address and settings.

Draft article for local review. Instructions may change before release.

A location represents a physical place where your organization operates. Open its details to see its name, status, address and settings.

Open a location

  1. Choose the retail organization you want to manage.
  2. Open Locations.
  3. Choose View location beside the location.

The location list shows Sales tax missing when no rate has been configured. Open the location and set its sales tax before going live. An explicitly saved 0% rate counts as configured.

The details start as a read-only view. Opening a location does not put its name or address into edit mode.

Add or change the address

  1. Choose Edit location.
  2. Update the location name or any address fields you need:
    • Street address
    • Address line 2
    • City
    • State, province or region
    • Postal code
    • Country code, such as US
  3. Choose Save location.

Address fields are optional. Choose Cancel to leave the saved details unchanged. Renaming a location keeps its existing inventory and register connections.

Change settings

The Settings section shows the configured sales-tax percentage. Choose Edit sales tax to change it. See Set the location's sales tax.

Changing an address does not look up or change the tax rate automatically.

Add another location

Return to Locations, enter a name in New location name, and choose Add location. Open the new location to fill in its details.

If someone else changed the details

If saving reports that the location changed, cancel the edit and choose Refresh. Review the latest details before applying your changes again.

Owners and managers can edit locations they have access to. Other staff can view details for their authorized locations.
